Nine Education vs Aakash: Which Is Better for NEET in Hyderabad?

Background: two different models of NEET preparation

Aakash was founded in 1988 in Delhi and built its reputation specifically on medical-entrance coaching. Over more than three decades it has grown into a national network with centres in most major Indian cities, including several in Hyderabad. Its model is a large, centralised NEET curriculum with national-level test benchmarking — a student in Hyderabad is measured against students in Delhi, Kota and Chennai on the same paper.

Nine Education was founded in 2012 in Hyderabad by three IIT Kharagpur alumni. We are not a national chain and have deliberately not tried to become one. We run BiPC with NEET and MPC with IIT JEE as integrated Intermediate programmes across 15 branches in and around Hyderabad, with every faculty member an IIT or NIT alumnus and every batch capped at 40 students in writing.

That difference is not marketing language. It changes what your child’s Monday actually looks like.

Integration: does the Intermediate board get taught too?

This is the single most important question in the comparison, and it is the one parents most often discover late.

A Telangana student sitting NEET is also sitting the Intermediate board examination. Those two things have to be prepared for in the same two years. In the Aakash model, NEET coaching is the product — the student is typically enrolled in a junior college for the board syllabus and attends Aakash separately for NEET. That can work well, but it means two institutions, two timetables, two sets of assignments, and no single person who owns the whole picture of how your child is doing.

At Nine Education, BiPC and NEET are one programme. The same all-IITian and NIT faculty who teach the Intermediate Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry syllabus also teach the NEET-pattern application of it, in the same building, on one timetable. When a student is weak in organic chemistry, that shows up in one place and gets addressed once — not argued over between a college and a coaching centre.

If your child already attends a junior college you are happy with, this advantage largely disappears, and a dedicated NEET classroom like Aakash becomes a genuinely reasonable choice.

Faculty and attention: who is in front of the class

The best NEET coaching in Hyderabad is, in the end, a faculty question. Material can be bought. Technology can be licensed. The person explaining human physiology at 9am cannot.

Our policy is absolute: every faculty member is an IIT or NIT graduate, and every batch is capped at 40 students — a cap we will show you on the register during a campus visit. A national chain’s centre economics generally point the other way, toward larger sections, because that is how a standardised curriculum scales. Neither approach is dishonest; they are optimising for different things. Aakash is optimising for reach and a large national norm group. We are optimising for a teacher knowing every student’s name and weak chapter by October of the first year.

Whichever you choose, ask the specific question: who teaches my child’s section, what is their qualification, and how many students will be in the room? A brand-level answer to a branch-level question tells you something useful.

Results: how to read NEET selection claims honestly

Both national chains and local institutes publish NEET results, and both can be read badly. Two habits protect you:

• Ask for branch-level numbers, not national ones. A national selection figure tells you about a company, not about the classroom your child will sit in. Ask what this Hyderabad branch produced last year.
• Ask for the denominator. “120 selections” means one thing out of 200 students and something entirely different out of 3,000. Any institute confident in its teaching will give you both numbers.

Fees: compare the two-year, all-in number

I will not quote Aakash’s fees here, because they vary by centre, course length and scholarship test outcome, and you should get them in writing from the centre itself rather than from a competitor’s blog. What I will tell you is how to make the comparison fair.

The Aakash route usually carries two bills: junior college fees plus NEET coaching fees. The Nine Education route carries one, because the Intermediate programme and NEET preparation are the same enrolment. When you compare, add up the full two-year cost of each route including tuition, study material, test series, and hostel if you need it. Ask both institutes what is not included. That single question surfaces most of the surprises families run into in the second year.

Who should choose which

Nine Education is likely the better fit if:

• Your child is entering Class 11 and you have not yet locked in a junior college — the integrated route removes an entire layer of coordination
• Your child needs to be noticed when they slip, rather than being self-directed enough to flag it themselves
• You want board marks and NEET preparation owned by one institution and one set of teachers
• You need a hostel and a NEET programme from the same place
• You live near one of our 15 Hyderabad branches

Aakash may be the better fit if:

• Your child is already settled in a junior college you are satisfied with, and only needs NEET coaching added
• Your child specifically wants national test-series benchmarking against a very large candidate pool
• Your child is a repeater or dropper preparing for NEET without a board year to manage alongside it
• An Aakash centre is significantly closer to home than any alternative

Official NEET eligibility, syllabus and registration dates are published by the National Testing Agency on the NEET official website, and MBBS seat allotment is handled by the Medical Counselling Committee. Verify dates there rather than from any coaching institute’s brochure.

Visit before you decide

The advice I give every parent, including those who end up choosing someone else: do not decide from websites, ours included. Visit both campuses. Meet the teacher who will actually take your child’s Biology class. Ask to see the batch register. Then decide.
