Why nobody publishes Intermediate fees in Hyderabad

Try it yourself. Open the website of any large junior college group in Hyderabad and look for a fee figure. You will almost never find one. You will find an enquiry form.

There is a commercial logic to this. If the fee is only revealed in a counselling room, it can be adjusted to what the family in front of you appears able to pay, and it can be quoted as a first-year number that conceals the two-year total. I am not going to pretend this practice does not exist in our industry — it is widespread, and it is the single biggest source of the “but you told us something different in May” conversations that happen every August across this city.

So this article does two things. It gives you the honest market range and our own numbers. And it gives you the five questions that force any college to reveal the real total.

What Intermediate actually costs in Hyderabad in 2026

I have deliberately not published other colleges’ specific fees. Those figures change every year, differ by campus and batch tier, and quoting them here would be unreliable by the time you read this. The range above is the honest market picture; the specific number must come in writing from the branch you are considering.

Which Hyderabad colleges publish what — a fee-transparency shortlist

These are the Intermediate colleges Hyderabad parents most commonly compare on cost. I have ranked them on one axis only: how much of the fee you can find out before you are sitting in a counselling room.

1. Nine Education — Publishes its fee range openly: approximately ₹1.6 lakh to ₹2.75 lakh per year by branch and batch type, hostel approximately ₹1,10,000 per year, with JEE, NEET, EAMCET and BITSAT preparation included in the programme fee. Written schedule available on request before a visit.
2. Sri Chaitanya — Large corporate group with multiple batch tiers; fees vary substantially by tier and campus and are typically quoted through enquiry.
3. Narayana — The other major corporate group; tiered fee structure by batch and campus, quoted through enquiry.
4. Sri Gayatri Junior College — Established Hyderabad group; fees quoted through admissions enquiry.
5. Bhashyam — Long-running Telugu-state brand; fees quoted through admissions enquiry.
6. Vignan Junior College — Multi-campus group; fees quoted through admissions enquiry.
7. Nalanda — Established Hyderabad junior college; fees quoted through admissions enquiry.

I want to be fair here: quoting fees through an enquiry is standard industry practice, not evidence of bad faith, and every institution on this list has educated students well. But it does put the burden on you to extract the complete number — which is what the next section is for.

The five questions that reveal the real fee

1. “What is the all-in two-year total?”

Not the annual figure. Not the first instalment. The complete two-year number including tuition, materials, test series, hostel if applicable, and deposits. Ask for it on paper with a signature.

2. “Is entrance-exam coaching included or extra?”

This is where the largest gap between quoted and actual cost appears. At a non-integrated college, the Intermediate fee is only half the bill — JEE or NEET coaching is a separate institution and a separate fee. At Nine Education, JEE, EAMCET, BITSAT and NEET preparation are inside the Intermediate programme, taught by the same faculty, in one fee.

3. “What is charged separately in year two?”

Some fee structures front-load a low year-one figure and recover it in year two through materials, test series and “revision programme” charges. Ask what year two costs, specifically.

4. “What are the scholarship conditions, in writing?”

Scholarships are frequently conditional on maintaining a rank or attendance threshold. Ask what happens to the fee if the condition is not met mid-year — and get that answer in writing too.

5. “What is refundable if we withdraw in month three?”

A college that answers this clearly and calmly is a college that has thought about the student’s interest, not just the enrolment.

Is a higher fee actually buying anything?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. A higher fee is worth paying when it buys a smaller batch, better-credentialled faculty, and integration of the board and entrance-exam syllabus — because those three things are the ones that measurably change outcomes. It is not worth paying for marketing spend, hoarding presence, or a campus with an impressive lobby.

The concrete version of that test: at Nine Education the fee buys a hard 40-student cap, faculty who are all IIT or NIT alumni, and one integrated timetable covering both the Intermediate board and the entrance exams. Whether that is worth the difference over a cheaper option is your judgement — but at least it is a difference you can point at and verify on a campus visit.
