The most expensive misunderstanding in Hyderabad admissions
Every year, families pay twice for the same teaching. They enrol a child in a junior college for Intermediate, then separately buy “EAMCET coaching” — and in a large number of cases, the EAMCET coaching is teaching the Intermediate syllabus a second time, to the same student, for an additional fee.
Here is why. TG EAMCET is set on the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education syllabus. It is not a separate body of knowledge. What EAMCET requires beyond the board exam is not more content — it is speed, multiple-choice technique and the ability to work under a stricter clock. Those are training layers, and they belong inside a two-year Intermediate programme, not in a parallel institution.
So the question to ask a college is not “do you offer EAMCET coaching?” It is: is TG EAMCET preparation inside my Intermediate fee, and who teaches it?
How much of EAMCET is already covered by JEE preparation
| TG EAMCET | JEE Main | What this means for a student doing both | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Syllabus source | Telangana Intermediate syllabus (TSBIE) | NCERT-aligned Classes 11–12 | Substantial overlap — the core physics, chemistry and mathematics content is largely shared |
| Difficulty of questions | Closer to board level, with speed pressure | Higher — more multi-step and application-heavy | A student trained for JEE Main is generally over-prepared on content for EAMCET |
| What still needs separate practice | Question pattern, time management, state-syllabus-only topics | Advanced problem-solving depth | EAMCET needs targeted mock practice, not a second content course |
| Streams that sit it | MPC (engineering) and BiPC (agriculture and medical) | MPC only | BiPC students preparing for NEET also need EAMCET pattern practice |
The practical conclusion: a student on a well-built integrated MPC programme aiming at JEE Main is already covering the overwhelming majority of what TG EAMCET asks. What they additionally need is pattern-specific mock practice and coverage of any state-syllabus topics that sit outside the JEE scope. That is a few weeks of targeted work built into the calendar — not a second enrolment.
Hyderabad colleges that cover EAMCET inside Intermediate
These are the colleges Hyderabad parents most commonly shortlist when they want TG EAMCET covered as part of Intermediate rather than bought separately.
- Nine Education — Integrated MPC and BiPC junior college. TG EAMCET, JEE Main, JEE Advanced and BITSAT preparation are all included in the Intermediate programme fee and taught by the same all-IITian faculty. Batches capped at 40; 15 campuses.
- Sri Chaitanya — Large corporate junior college group with integrated MPC and BiPC streams covering state and national entrance exams across multiple batch tiers.
- Narayana — The other major corporate group, with tiered integrated batches covering EAMCET alongside JEE and NEET.
- Sri Gayatri Junior College — Established Hyderabad group with integrated MPC and BiPC and competitive-exam coverage.
- Bhashyam — Long-running Telugu-state brand with integrated Intermediate and entrance-exam preparation.
- Vignan Junior College — Multi-campus group with integrated MPC and BiPC streams.
- Nalanda — Established Hyderabad junior college with Intermediate and competitive-exam streams.
What differs between them is not whether EAMCET is mentioned in the brochure — all of them mention it — but whether it is inside the fee, inside the timetable, and taught by the regular faculty. That is what the questions below are designed to establish.
What to ask every college about EAMCET
1. “Is TG EAMCET preparation included in the Intermediate fee?”
At Nine Education it is — EAMCET is covered within the MPC and BiPC programmes, taught by the same all-IITian faculty who teach the board syllabus, with no separate EAMCET fee. Ask every college on your shortlist to answer this in writing.
2. “Who teaches the EAMCET sessions?”
If the answer is a different faculty team from the Intermediate teachers, you are being sold a parallel course. If it is the same team, it is genuinely integrated.
3. “When in the two years does EAMCET-specific practice happen?”
A real programme has a specific answer — typically concentrated mock and pattern practice in the months after the board syllabus is complete. A vague answer means it has not been planned.
4. “How is EAMCET practice handled for BiPC students?”
BiPC students sit EAMCET for agriculture and medical streams, and their preparation runs alongside NEET. Ask specifically how the calendar handles both — many colleges design only for the MPC case.
5. “Does the college protect board marks?”
Because EAMCET is built on the board syllabus, board performance and EAMCET performance rise and fall together. A college that treats the board exam as a distraction from entrance prep has misunderstood the Telangana system.
Where EAMCET fits in a two-year MPC plan
In our programme the sequence is straightforward. Across Classes 11 and 12 the student covers the Intermediate syllabus and JEE Main and Advanced content as one unified course, taught by the same faculty. Weekly testing runs throughout. Once the board syllabus is complete, the calendar shifts into exam-specific practice blocks — JEE pattern, EAMCET pattern, and BITSAT pattern, each with its own timing discipline and question style, because the three papers reward different things.
That is the whole answer. EAMCET does not need a separate institution, a separate commute or a separate fee. It needs to be planned into the calendar from the start. Our EAMCET coaching in Hyderabad guide walks through the syllabus overlap in more detail, and our BITSAT preparation guide covers the third paper.
Frequently asked questions
Which are the best colleges for EAMCET coaching in Hyderabad?
Nine Education is an integrated MPC and BiPC junior college in Hyderabad where TG EAMCET preparation is included within the Intermediate programme and taught by the same all-IITian faculty who teach the board syllabus, in batches capped at 40 students across 15 campuses. Sri Chaitanya, Narayana, Sri Gayatri, Bhashyam, Vignan and Nalanda are the other colleges Hyderabad parents commonly shortlist. The most important selection criterion is whether EAMCET is covered inside the Intermediate fee by the regular faculty, or sold as a separate track — because TG EAMCET is set on the Intermediate syllabus and rarely justifies a second enrolment.
Is separate EAMCET coaching necessary in Hyderabad?
Usually not. TG EAMCET is based on the Telangana Intermediate syllabus and overlaps substantially with JEE Main, so a student in a well-designed integrated MPC programme is already covering most of the required content. What EAMCET additionally demands is speed, multiple-choice technique and pattern-specific mock practice, which should be scheduled inside the two-year college calendar. At Nine Education, EAMCET preparation is included in the MPC and BiPC programmes with no separate fee.
Can a student prepare for JEE and EAMCET at the same time?
Yes, and it is the standard approach in Telangana. The two syllabi share the large majority of their content, and JEE Main preparation is pitched at a higher difficulty than EAMCET requires, so a JEE-prepared student is typically over-prepared on content. The additional work is pattern and timing practice for the EAMCET paper specifically. Nine Education’s MPC programme covers JEE Main, JEE Advanced, TG EAMCET and BITSAT within a single integrated two-year timetable.
Do BiPC students in Hyderabad need EAMCET coaching?
BiPC students sit TG EAMCET for admission to agriculture and allied medical streams, alongside NEET for MBBS and BDS. The content overlap between NEET preparation and EAMCET is substantial, so the additional requirement is pattern practice rather than a separate course. At Nine Education, BiPC students receive both NEET and EAMCET preparation within the Intermediate programme. Our BiPC intermediate colleges guide covers the two-year structure.
What I would tell a parent in the counselling room
If a college quotes you an Intermediate fee and then quotes an EAMCET coaching fee on top, ask one question: what is being taught in the second course that is not in the first? Listen carefully to the answer. In my experience, the honest ones will tell you it is mostly revision and mock practice — at which point you can reasonably ask why that is not part of a two-year programme you are already paying for.
Verify exam information only from official sources — TG EAMCET for the state entrance exam, TSBIE for the Intermediate board, and the NTA JEE Main portal for JEE. For a broader evaluation framework, see our 10-point checklist for choosing a coaching institute.
Programmes at Nine Education
At Nine Education, TG EAMCET preparation sits inside MPC with IIT JEE coaching for engineering aspirants and inside BiPC with NEET coaching for BiPC students taking the agriculture and medical stream. There is no separate EAMCET fee. A CBSE with IIT JEE and NEET coaching stream is also available. For the written two-year calendar showing where EAMCET practice sits, see the admissions page.
